Trauma is a sensory memory which is why it can only be released through experiencing feelings and letting them complete-
Feeling the uncomfortable feelings now is safe.
In the past feelings brought about by experiences were life threatening but the feelings can not hurt me now and I am in control of the process.
The more I can be aware of the feelings and sit with the feelings I can be rid of them as they will have been processed.
Sitting with and feeling unpleasent scary feelings is the process of relieving the trauma.
Feeling lets the trauma process complete.
Feeling in a new perspective lets the trauma comple and fade.
The new perspective is the life threateng situation is over what I am open to experience is just a feeling a yucky one but a feeling cannot hurt me.
I have to experience the feeling in a safe way in order to let it process and get unstuck from within my body.
I am safe and supportedand it is theright time and right environment to let trauma feelings emerge and recognize even though they are from the past they are still painful but they cannot hurt me.
The practice of daily mindfulness of this fact/proceedure will help me dismantle a trigger much sooner.
