Interpreting your experiences so that they make sense and integrating them into your life, then, can be as important to your healing as the experiences themselves.
Discovering a sense of safety within yourself and learning how to access that sense on an ongoing basis, is important to the healing process.
Learning to feel safe is not a one-time event but a continuing process. As you feel safe where you are, you can take the risk of dropping a layer of armorand seeing what it is like without it. But dropping that armor may leave you feeling vulnerable and scared at first, so you need to learn to feel safe all over again, at that level. When you do, you can drop another layer of armor, the process continues. Safety comes from feeling grounded.
